Another band from the Street Symphonies record stable, DustInEyes is completely different from SuperHorrorFuck, but in a way quite comparable also.
DustInEyes sounds much more metal-like, much more agressive and technically skilled, but still holds that speedlimit high and the dirt-level even higher.
They're clearly rooted in the heavy genres musically, but it sounds and feels like DustInEyes' background also includes the rock greats. Groove and swinging solos accompany the gritty songs in a way that cannot be simply "metal". "This Is My Ring" proves this perfectly.
Due to the fact that this is a more technical band than most, you don't get that old Vains Of Jenna feel of dirty sleaze rock, but something freshly new instead. Maybe it's the punky vocals that drag the whole to another level...
"A Bet With Life" shows exactly how they work this out. The riffage is as tight as it gets, the drums blast all the way through the songs, but then singer Lele Dust smears a thick layer of filth across it all.
As far as the sound of the record goes, there's clearly been a lot of work on it. The bass is not too present, which is a bit of a shame, but the rhythm and lead guitar tracks work together nicely sound-wise. A job well done!
This is what all headbangers should love, so have a listen and hopefully you'll share my opinion on DustInEyes and their third album Bullet For My Generation.
