Brock has a busy year behind him. Previously he was featured on the new album also reunited the Giant as well as his excellent solo album Blue Diamond recently released. And now the reunion with Strangeways. After the debut album from 1986, Brock joined the band and there were two albums (Native Sons in 1987 and Walk in the fire of 1989) that after all these years never to have lost strength and quality.
Here we have the new album "Perfect world"
I have some mixed feelings about this one. First let me say that I'm very glad that Strangeways did reünite but I was expecting a killer album here and that's what I'm missing !!
“I honestly couldn't really describe the "new" sound as such, it's just honest melodic heart and soul rock music, good tunes played with attitude and feeling”
No sparkling and catchy choruses and the vocals of Brock sound quite monotonous. The inspiration seems despite the new cooperation hard to find. Only a few tracks (Liberty, Bushfire and the title track) speak to the imagination when we hear something back from the old familiar sound. And after all these years too little. Too bad.
If a "Perfect World" also will become a classic like "Walk in the fire" is doubtful because unfortunately the album is rather disappointing.
Terry Brock – vocals
Ian J. Stewart – guitars
Warren Jolly - bass
Jim Drummond - drums
David "Munch" Moore - keyboards
