A few years ago I became friends with Oscar (through facebook) because of the band called Eye. With Eye, he made 2 Ep cd's buth shortly after the second one, he left the band.

He then formed Osukaru, together with the awarded American drummer Ryan Coyle.

The idea was to deliver high class harmonic Scandi AOR for the true fans out there.

Along the way Oz was reunited with his former Katana band mates; Johan Bernspång, with an A-class vocal register, as well as guitarist Tobias Karlsson, with more of a metal edge to his sound.

As the last piece of the puzzle, the beautiful new talent named Emma Lee joined the band on bass.

This Swedish / American AOR outfit delivers pure 80's music with strong and powerful vocals and solid guitars. The vocals of Johan remind me a bit of Tracy White (Intruder , Shotgun Symphony).

I had the privilege to listen to some previews of the songs a few months ago, and already I was surprised with the excellent songwriting and professionalism by these guys!

After a short intro......

"Driven By Love" opens the album , a great song with a catchy chorus.

"Change Of Heart" is a nice mid-tempo rocker with strong melodies. Great guitar solo in this song!

"Believe" is a semi-rock ballad with some amazing keys.

"Tell Me You'll Stay" is my favorite song, a fantastic AOR song that reminds me of Jim Jidhed (Alien) with fantastic guitars and amazing keyboards! This is also the best song of the album and is AOR played as it should be!

"Out Of Touch" is a little bit different, it has a very funky (Jeff scott soto) vibe!!

"Dedication" is a very nice instrumental theme.

The last song "It Was Meant To Be" is a duet between a female singer and Johan, this is a super AOR-ballad with classy background vocals in the chorus. This song has everything AOR has to offer in a ballad!

This debut is an amazing release and should be bought by all fans of the genre, even though it only has a running time of 28 minutes.
