All Dressed Up is one of thé all-time West Coast classics, no surprise actually when you listen to the amazing musicianship of the session cats involved in the recording of David’s masterfully written songs.
Some of the album’s tunes were later covered by other artists, Diana Ross recorded “Anywhere You Run To”, Ramsey Lewis with Nancy Wilson did “Midnight Rendezvous” and the Nielsen/Pearson Band “Too Good To Last”.
In the years to come, David built a career based on his songwriting talent with artists like Starship, Bad English, Lee Aaron, Signal, House Of Lords, Jimmy Barnes and Boulevard counting on his skills.
This is one of my favorite West Coast albums of all times. A beautiful album, which combines pretty melodies, amazing musicianship, extraordinary vocals by David Roberts.
The sound is pretty close to Toto. David has an amazing voice, and the record holds a high standard all the way, perfect played and the production are great as well.
The best song in my opinion is "Someone Like You"... Just GREAT AOR/West Coast!
Also the midtempos "Never Gonna Let You Go" and "She´s Still Mine"; The Westcoast flavoured "Wrong Side Of The Tracks" and of course those irresistible soft ballads: "Boys Of Autumm", the beautiful "Too Good To Last" and the precious "Midnight Rendezvous" are amongst my favorites!
This first pressing of the remastered release of All Dressed Up through Avenue Of Allies comes as a limited Special Edition in a jewel case with an individually numbered additional slipcase and an extensive booklet including lyrics, new liner notes and track-by-track comments by David Roberts, and for the first time all musicians are individually listed for every album track.
A true gem for all AOR and Westcoast fans and music collectors.
