BAI BANG - one of the most powerful rock acts from Sweden -
features four talented and dynamic rockers in the line-up: Diddi Kastenholt (vocals), Pelle Eliaz (Lead Guitar), Joacim Sandin (Bass) and Johnny Benson (Drums).
Since the band has started in the late 80’s, BAI BANG have spent a lot of time together on their tours all over Europe, die USA,
Canada, Japan – including the famous Whisky a Gogo and the Cat Club in Los Angeles twice each.
The Swedes shared the stage with bands such as LA Guns, Thin Lizzy, Wishbone Ash, Ratt, Dio, Mötley Crüe, Pretty Maids, Saxon, Axel Rudi Pell
and played at festivals such as Sweden Rock, Wacken and Rocklahoma.
The last album “Are You Ready” was released in 2009 and nominated for the best sleaze/glam album in at the Swedish Metal Awards
and voted as “The Best all round party anthem album of the year” in the Australian magazine The Rockpit.
July 22nd 2011 sees the release of the band’s new and seventh album in total „Livin‘ My Dream“.
This release was recorded in Sunshine Explosion studios in Helsingborg, Sweden during the years 2010 & 2011, produced by Pontus Assarsson
and mastered by Martin Kronlund; drums were recorded by Jens Lundgren at Titan Studios Sweden
The album gets off to a full on rock attack, the first track, “We’re united” is a cool fast hard rocker with some glam/sleaze overtones.
“Livin’ my dream” has an almost thrashy riff going on at the start, but the vocals soon calm things down, and then we all join in singing along to the chorus,
this is one of my favorite songs on this cd.
“Come on” has a great catchy chorus, with a throwback to the late 80s, .
“Rock on” has a Def Leppard sound and feel to it.
'Stay' is a great Europe-type song , although its ending is so abrupt ?
This is a very fine record, never groundbreaking, just good catchy tunes. Just the way I like it !
This record should appeal to all fans of AOR/Rock music, with the odd slightly heavy tune thrown in for good measure, very much in the Bon Jovi,Def Leppard style.
But only 35 minutes long...this is a bit short for a full cd !!
