Most will associate Chris with the band “Heartland” which was actually formed by Chris with Gary Sharpe and their self titled debut on A & M Records in the early nineties was produced by James "Jimbo" Barton. Since then Chris has notched up 10 releases with Heartland, and recently “Best of" is a great reminder of the work he has done over the years.
Nicknamed by the press as “The Man with the Golden Tonsils” Chris has always been loved by the rock audience, simply because of his amazing voice and his uncanny vocal range.
Rhyme and Reason is a great album and highlights just how Chris has matured over the last two decades.
Just one look at the line-up and your expectations get high. They are all class musicians.
And they do deliver. This album is quality all the way through.. Splendid work from everyone involved in the process. And the most outstanding performance is the vocals from Chris Ousey. This man has got a voice that is just amazing.
There aren´t many singers that holds the same register that his got.
The songs are really good and catchy. You can easily hum along even the first time you listen to it. The sound brings to mind bands such as Night Ranger, Loverboy and some other bands from the 80´s and it´s not in a bad way. I love to have this record in the background when I´m at home at evenings. But it also the downside to the album. It don´t stick like glue, is just sort of flow along in a easy going way.
But if you like this sort of music I´m rather sure you won´t be disappointed.
