Andy Rock started to play in rock bands in early 2000. The main musical influences of this Greek artist come from some of the greatest AOR bands/artists such as Bon Jovi, Richard Marx and Michael Bolton.
In 2004 Andy Rock formed the Melodic Rock band WILD ROSE with whom he released a critically well received studio album entitled “Half Past Midnight” last year.
But the songs that ended up on the Wild Rose platter weren't the only ones that were written over the years by this talented artist and now he has made some of them available on his first ever solo record.
"Love Is Not A Game" is the perfect opener as It brings back memories from the 80s. Up next is "It's Not Over" that would fit perfectly on Wild Rose's debut album. A simply outstanding AOR tune and one of my personal favorites of "Into The Light".
"U Belong To Me" is another brilliant example of just how talented this guy is: a really catchy song with great harmonies, memorable chorus and very good arrangements.
Track number 4, "Lonely Heart", is an emotional ballad while in "Cryin' Every Night" we have a melodic rock gem. It oozes with attitude with Andy's guitar taking up most of the spotlight and a chorus to die for.
The party continues with "I Wanna Be With You"(a more laid-back pop rocker with a sweet melody and a huge solo) and the feel-good vibe of "Out On The Streets". The album comes to a perfect close with "Into The Night" which is another highlight of this disc.
Overall I would say that this is an extremely enjoyable release from start to finish.Mister Rock is a very talented guy and that reflects in his music.
He is capable of delivering a good melodic rock tune with 'clever' arrangements, catchy hooks and choruses and some seriously high-skilled guitar work.
His music is full of emotions and his vocal performance is more than OK. I have no doubt the future looks bright for both him and Wild Rose.
