Dirty Glory is a Brazilian group formed in 2011 in San Paulo. They are a part of The New Wave Of Brazilian Sleaze.
And Sleaze is just what we get from these guys. It´s dirty, sticky, raw and straight in your face. The songs are high quality work, and it´s that way all thou the album.
So is this new and ground breaking?
- No not really.
Have we heard this before?
- Yes we sure have.
But I don´t mean this in a bad way. Dirty Glory know what they are doing and they do it very well, much better then a lot of others.
I could say that I can hear some influences from the Swedish Sleaze scene. Some bands that springs to mind are early Crashdiet, Hardcore Superstars and Crazy Lixx.
It´s a great feeling when you press play and the opening track “Sticks And Stones” really punches you in the gut like a 100 pound sledgehammer. The tempo slightly decreases after that, but not that much. Track nr 4 “Beyond Time” is a gem that brings you back to the 80´s sound of Def Leppard. “Black Lightning” drives the tempo back to the top. And excellent “Fire” keeps it up. This Roller Coaster ride in tempo continues all the way to the end and makes it a perfect mix in up-tempo and mid-tempo songs.
If there are something that I´ve forgotten to mention it just might be that the songs comes with contagious choruses.
I really like this album and I hope a lot of you out there will too. Dirty Glory is worthy of the attention, and i hope we will hear more from them in the future.
