Rock N' Roll Allstars concert review + PHOTOS
De Verlichte Geest, Roeselare
Another load of Sweden's up and coming on a Belgian tour, what could be greater than that?
Not long after the opening band, the Allstars took the stage in what appeared to be an alcohol-induced looseness, trying to rough up the crowd to the state they were already in.
The place was packed well enough to get a party started, but seen as a lot of the people there were not all that into glam/sleaze, it took some time.
None of us really knew what they were bringing, since the debut album is still to be finished and released, but the Myspace stuff promised to be top quality on stage.
The boys did some good promotion on their second single "Bang Bang Baby Bang", holding on to it until the very last of the show. Let's just say it's well worth the buy, pick it up where you can!
Now, about the show itself: apart from the singer being drunk (or just really nervous), there was nothing to say in their disadvantage. Sure, there's a lot of new wave sleaze bands coming and going these days, especially from the northern part of Europe, but these boys are packing heat!
The wall of sound they put up in the bar formed a great catalyst for rowdiness. I believe I saw the first ever mosh pit on one of the Sleazenation shows, and that's not a bad thing given the musical preferences of the crowd.
Rock N' Roll Allstars drenched the crowd in their own brand of northern filthy fast sleaze rock, which took some time to sink in due to the fact that none knew their stuff, but it tasted like more and more.
We will get the cd reviewed on here as soon as it's out, we will get the pics up as soon as we can (check out the tour tattoos they got!) and we will hear more from the Allstars, believe you me!
