Sister @ The Rocktemple, Kerkrade 30/11/11
The Swedish foursome started fantastic, the boys began right on time and the intro gave me a giggly feeling.
It reminded me of the song of my favorite ride as a kid called ‘Los Piratas’ in theme park ‘Bellewaerde’.
But enough about me, although I am a very important person it’s time to get back to the gig.
The kickstart for half an hour of bombastic drums an rough guitar riffs was ‘werewolves on blackstreet’.
With the first tune of ‘hated’ the audience had a hard time not to move along with the music.
Although there was not much interaction of the audience between the songs.
Instead of backing down, the singer solved that with humor which made it even harder not to like them.
For example “are you drunk, high or sober? Ok you’re feeling more like, quit the bullshit and play the fucking song”.
But sometimes that can be positive like when the singer asked to spit on him if the people didn’t like the show, nobody did that (yours truly found that a very good thing, I’ve never been a fan of spit).
But a lack of interaction didn’t stop the guys to dedicate ‘unlucky minority’ for everybody in the venue.
When the last song ‘too bad for you was finished’ I was left with a hunger for more, which is good of course.
After the gig the band made sure that everybody got an autograph or a picture, it was really nice to see that guys who put such an effort in looking scary were actually very friendly.
I don’t know about you but for me it was the first time that a musician thanked me for buying merchandise and coming to the show.
I’ll end this review with a confession “yes I would love creatures like them, in fact I would like to take them all home and meet my dad.”
