First I'd like to thank Human Zoo, for taking the time to answer a few questions. And being my first interview :)


How did the six of you meet?
Next to the music, which is a crucial factor of course, a good team around the band is really important. At the moment we really have great distribution and promotion partners who we don’t want to miss by no means. Together with them and our first two albums we built a good base for our success here in Germany. With our third album we want to continue with this philosophy worldwide.

Who is your biggest　influence?
We all come from different musical backgrounds – each one of us contributes his own part to the band and the music. Our slogan is to live the original "Human Zoo – Style" and not to copy anyone.

What made you choose the name 'Human Zoo'?
In our opinion a band name should sound good and should be easy to remember. In "Human Zoo" every one of us could identify himself.

What do you like to do more, touring or recording?
Recording and selling CDs are important if you want to persist on the market. But Human Zoo is definitely a Live-Band. We could prove that with our gigs during the last years and at the Bang Your Head Festival 2011 last week in Balingen/Germany. For that reason it is really important for us to record the albums in a way they can be carried over one-to-one to the stage.

What's it like being a band in Balingen?
We all come from Balingen and feel like home here, private and as band. And we are proud that many people from Balingen like our music and come to our concerts.

Are there a lot of bands like you over there?
We don’t think so. We are unique in our way and we are glad, that so many people like our style.

How did you get the slot in the 'Bang Your Head' festival?
Originally we were only booked for a Signing Session on Saturday. But as one band cancelled on short notice, the organizer asked us a few days before the festival to fill this gap spontaneously. We couldn’t let this chance out and said Yes!

Did you enjoy playing the festival?
YEEEEEEEEEEES!!!

What are the fans like over in Germany?
When the fans like a certain music or band, they are really loyal and devoted over many years and albums. Therefore, the effort to convince them is definitely worth it.

What is your favorite thing to do when not on tour or in the studio?
Fishing (really!), driving fast, going out, having fun and a few drinks…

Have you considered a north american tour yet?
If we get the chance – any time!

Whats your favorite foods/snacks/drinks?
We are not choosy.

Who is your celebrity crush?
At the moment we can’t think of anyone in particular.

Beer or booze?
First beer, then booze!

Alcohol or sex?
Sex without alcohol is great; alcohol without sex as well. Both together – also ok. Choose whatever you want.

Groupies or longterm relationships?
We are a rock band!

Dogs or cats?
Dogs.

Cartoons or reality tv?
Reality tv!

Leather or latex?
Leather.

Blondes, brunettes or multi color (like pinks, blues etc)?
Each to his own.

What's next for Human Zoo?
Live gigs, a tour, and the promotion of the album.
