Bai Bang interview
We've had a small talk with Bai Bang's bassplayer Joacim. Here it is
Hi guys, anything new in the Bai Bang front?
Joacim: Hello, yes lots of things are happening with the band, new members and we are recording our next album at the moment.
Its sort of the same sound as the last one.
Sad news you lost a guitarplayer.
How are things going with your new guitarist Rasmus Ehrnborn (of Paul Di'Anno)?
Joacim: Its great, he´s a damn good guitarplayer and most important is that he is a great person.
Are you still looking for a second guitar player? And do you have any news 'bout that for us?
What exactly are you looking for..
Joacim: No, if we ever meet one on the road someday we´ll discuss it then.
How were the sales and reactions of your latest cd 'Are you ready' ?
Joacim: Its been good, I dont know excacly how many copies thats out there but Ive only heared good things and we got some great reviews as well.
You've been hitting the road since the 80's. Musics industry has changed a lot over the years, how did you experience that?
Joacim: Yes its a bit sad, you can make millions on music today without knowing how to play any instruments.
Wacken last year must have given a boost to the band, right?
Joacim: We played Rocklahoma and Wacken among other places, it was awsume.
We have been playing at Wacken a couple times before but it was the first time at Rocklahoma.
How did you experience touring America?
Joacim: Its where we wanna be, Its different than Europe though.
What was your greatest tourexperience?
Joacim: We have been touring with lots of my idols when I was a kid, so thats pretty cool.
There are so many stories hehe
and the worst one?
Probably when some idiot crashed all the windows on the tourbus just a couple of hours before we supposed to leave, but we got new in time and didnt have to cancel anything.
The bus was in live TV the morning after and I hope the idiot saw the show.
How was Rocklahoma last year? Tell us something about it. A lot of european fans must wonder how it is over there..
Joacim: It was great but different, the didnt need to have like security guards like at the European festivals around the stages, the americans knows if they cross the line they´ll pay for it hehe.
It was a great experience and I hope we´ll play there again.
Which was the coolest band you ever toured with? or do you prefere headline tours?
Joacim: We have been touring with some cool bands like, Alice Cooper, La Guns, Ratt, Dio (rip my friend) and so on, we became really good friends with the guys in Union.
Thx for your time, and see you in Belgium some day!
Thank you, I sure hope so :-)
